What You Need to Do
Think about the primary research that you will conduct for your Recommendation Report. Primary research is data that you gather yourself. It does not come from books, journals, or websites. Here are some examples of primary research:
- gathering prices at several grocery stores for similar items.
- trying several recipes and comparing the results.
- interviewing people for their recommendations.
- surveying people to learn their opinion.
For this Try-It, answer the questions to gather information related to the food-related problem and the solution you will propose in your report. For more details on primary research, see Markel & Selber, Chapter 6.
How This Activity Connects to the Recommendation Report
After answering the questions in this Try-It, you are ready to begin gathering research for your report. Your answers tell you the information you need to find for your Recommendation Report.
Assessment
Canvas automatically marks your work Complete when you submit it. All you have to do is TRY the activity. It’s okay if you make mistakes. Recognize however that if you have not put in an effort to do the work, I may remove the Complete mark.
