Instructions
You can use your textbook, any notes that you have, and the available course pages in Canvas for help as you work on these questions.
What You Need to Do
Evaluate a webpage to determine if it is “accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, appropriately technical, current, and clear” (Markel & Selber, p. 132). The questions in this Try-It come from “GUIDELINES Evaluating Print and Online Sources,” on pp. 134–135 of Markel & Selber.
How This Activity Connects to the Recommendation Report
You cannot trust every source you find online, so it’s important to be able to tell whether a website is appropriate for your work. After you try out this process, you can apply it to the secondary sources you find for your Recommendation Report.
Assessment
Canvas automatically marks your work Complete when you submit it. All you have to do is TRY the activity. It’s okay if you make mistakes. Recognize however that if you have not put in an effort to do the work, I may remove the Complete mark.
