Student Introductions

Use this discussion forum (edited as you wish) to allow students to introduce themselves to each other (and to you). You can make this as simple as you wish but should have some fun with it. An interesting introduction assignment allows for students to create a 'social presence' so that they can create relationships for student-to-student interaction and strong learning communities. It also allows for some familiarity in a highly structured course that helps to balance the 'transactional distance' in a course (large course on-site or an online course).

Here is an example of an introductory discussion forum you can use/edit...you will know your students best and can determine just how much information and of what type they are likely to feel comfortable sharing.
