Photo Grass & Weed Lab

You will need to gather and identify 5 different  turfgrasses AND 5 different broadleaf weeds [no grassy weeds like crabgrass or goosegrass] 

1) Place the 5 DIFFERENT turfgrasses on the attached sheet. Put your name on the sheet, and your VT id on the sheet. -Cover your ID number but show your photo and name. 

-Take a photo of the sheet  [ camera phone is ok]

2) Do the same for the broadleaf weeds

UPLOAD FILE(S) TO THIS ASSIGNMENT HERE - CAN BE SEVERAL FILES OR YOU CAN COMBINE INTO A SINGLE FILE.

MAKE PHOTOS LARGE ENOUGH SO YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCES ON PLANTS.

Remember :  the photo pages (one is grass and the other is broadleaf weeds) and the written "How you identified each sample"  

Example: Grasses     #1 is Kentucky Bluegrass - Boat shaped leaf tip, dark green, rhizomes, mid-vein
