Welcome to EDIT 5624 Learning Media Design Spring 2020
The goal of this course is to engage graduate students in the Instructional Design and Technology program in creative exploration of the overlapping disciplines (graphic design, engineering, learning sciences, communication, interactive design) that are used in the design of interactive media. By engaging in the design process, students gain an understanding of interactive media as it can be applied in learning environments. As we progress through the semester, students build ties between the elements of interactivity that various forms of media affords and the impact of artistic considerations for the purpose of engaging with defined content. Students engage in several stages of the design process to prototype interactive media products. These stages of design include ideation, storyboarding, public presentation and critique, and prototyping for a product or process iterations. After a number of peer reviews, 3 separate expert reviews, and a small usability testing of their prototypes over the course of the semester, students' final deliverables showcase prototypes of a product designed to address a problem space within teaching or learning environments.
Welcome to our showcase.
