Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals

The UN Millennium Development Goals (2000 to 2015) supported unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world’s poorest people. Yet, there is still much work to be done.  The Sustainable Development Goals are the follow-up effort to the Millennium Development Goals.

  1. Read the Sustainable Development Goals (listed below).
  2. Choose 1 goal, as a group. Post this goal (and your group members names) so no other groups choose that goal.
  3. Read about the goal in more detail Links to an external site.
  4. In a reply to your original post (no more than 100 words per bullet point):
    • List Millennium Development Goals which are connected to your Sustainable Development Goal (i.e. how does this goal pick up where the MDGs left off?).
    • Provide specific details about your goal (i.e. How will the goal be measured? What geographic region will this impact most?)
    • What infrastructures are needed to support achieving this goal. Try to be specific - provide an example region/country and how this infrastructure will support meeting this goal for that area.
