Submitting Your Work When Submit Button Is Grayed Out

These instructions explain what to do if you see a grayed out Submit button when you try to turn in your work. Canvas always tricks a few people, so I want to give you the details.

The assignments are open in Canvas, and other people have submitted their work. Most likely, you are seeing that the button is grayed out because you have not uploaded the file yet.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the Survey assignment page, you‘ll see something like this:

Click the Upload button to add your file(s). Once you do, the Submit button is no longer grayed out, like this:

You can see the random PDF that I uploaded under the File Name heading, and the button is no longer gray.
