Academic Planning, Academic Research

Today class will not meet either online or in the classroom. Instead, you will have dedicated time to review advising information on the New Student Support site on Canvas (if you are a business major, you already have access per the advising office; if not, you are not responsible for this material). You should review the following modules if you have not already:

  • All About Advising
  • Getting Help on Campus
  • Planning for Next Semester

The Pamplin Academic Advising Office plans the following release of the information for the Fall 2021 semester as follows:

- Wednesday, August 18th:  All About Advising (Pamplin Academic Advising, Pamplin Career Services, Pamplin International Programs)

- Wednesday, September 8th: Getting Help at Virginia Tech (academic support, health and wellness, student advocacy, etc.)

- Wednesday, September 15th: Course Planning for Next Semester (course request, drop/add, course planning tools, etc.)

The second part of today's class will be dedicated time for you to complete the online library lessons (start here and scroll through the lessons) on Academic Research. Also this video has been prepared specifically for MGT 1104 and will provide guidance on research for a later assignment in the course.

There will be a quiz on the library portion of this content.
