Creating and Adding Folders
- Go to your Canvas site. In the course navigation menu, click Files.
-
Click +Folder and name the folder.
- You can now click on the folder and upload files directly into that folder.

Best Practices
- Hide the Files tool from navigation so students cannot access (when you upload files they publish automatically so by hiding the files tool there is no worry students will see the files.
- Direct students to files content using the Modules tool if you want more control over when and what order they access files content.
- Create folders to organize files if you have a lot of them.
- Use a naming convention for folders and files that works for you (Canvas automatically alphabetizes them).
