Viewing Video Quiz Analytics

You can view the analytics in your courses by going to the Media Gallery tool then selecting the slider icon in the top right corner and choosing Analytics from the dropdown. The analytics will be broken down into overall as well as individual students' number of views, average watch time, and any interactions and engagement students had with the videos.

Best Practices

  • Create playlists to chunk or group a series of videos for easy access
  • Embed a video into an assignment and create questions about the video to help students engage in critical thinking.
  • Embed a video into a discussion board topic and have students reflect and give their perspective while interacting with peers.
  • Create interactive video quizzes (low stakes) to help them extract important parts of the video. For example: Use a TED Talk video & create stopping points to answer a multiple choice question or a short answer questions.
  • Review the analytics of the videos for feedback on video engagement
  • Review video quiz analytics to view short answer responses and use your gradebook to view multiple choice video quiz responses.
  • Use video analytics to see which students are watching the videos and address any issues if needed. You can also use the analytics to provide you with feedback about videos in relation to drop off time or student comments.
