Overview

If you use a whiteboard or blackboard during your lectures, you can switch to other technologies to move your course online.

Write on Paper

TLOS has classrooms equipped with document cameras. You can write your material on paper while you narrate, and have it all recorded to post in your Canvas site.

To schedule a recording session, email ClassroomSupport@vt.edu

Use a Tablet

If you have a device with a stylus, you can write your material there while you narrate and record using Kaltura Capture.

Use Zoom's Built-in Whiteboard

You can use Zoom’s annotation tools to write by hand (with a stylus) during a Zoom Meeting. For instructions, see Sharing a whiteboard Links to an external site.

Make Digital Math

EquatIO can convert hand-written equations to digital math. You can write out your material and take photos. Then use EquatIO to convert the photos to digital math. Add the math to your slides and narrate as you go through them. For more information, see our page: Using Digital Math
